Drove for over an hour to get there and see all the gates are closed.
yes florida had some flooding from a hurricane. It has been 10 weeks since the storm.
Best part of this campsite, no RV's. My only complaint was that I was a little late in leaving...granted I should've given them a heads up, but the next party came super early, even though check in was later, and staff was a bit rude and "inconvenienced" even though the other party arrived 2 hours early.
It's very nice place and it best to go with friends and a boat
They have some great nature trails, bike trails and river. The campsites are hit or miss. Some of them are small with little to no privacy others are large and private.
The park is beautiful. Some of the staff is super friendly and others not so friendly. The website to book online is a pain and complicated.
I really enjoy the mtb route...keeps me fit..ish and focused. Waiting for track conditions to be sorted due to the lovely rains...then we will return.
They have showers littered throughout the park, with the hot water showers near the bathroom. There's no electricity, and 1 outlet in the bathroom. The sites come with a grill, picnic table and fire ring. The sites are walk up sites so be prepared to walk your gear from the parking lot. They have carts that are easy to push/pull and large enough to make a few trips.
Love this place! Beautiful nature trail! Peaceful oh yes. I will be coming back!
Eager to ride my bike and freaking Florida is the wrong state to satisfy the urge.
google maps says they are open. Wildlife website says otherwise?
